One died, the other survived, Then two kinda lost their heads. It’s not my fault as I’m the one that dreads, The birth of only daughters in my bloodline. I’m not ornery, I’m just Enery. I am your death, I am your giver of life. I can control all happiness, Give you nothing but strife. This world is mine to command, As I alone see fit. Not even God could stop me, I have all the wit. Taking too much time to reflect, I see that the choices continue to evade me. Words that come so eloquently leave; Drawing my anger and frustration out. I close my eyes, turn on the music and meditate. Like a swift motion, words, phrase and lines come together. Oh how I miss the thought of poetry, the grace; The way they feel off the tongue and flow in air. As I reach the precipice of thought, Words flow in my mind like the sand in a desert. So much to process, so much to write; And putting it to paper glides effortlessly.

I wake up. It's a new day. Coffee ready, breakfast cooking, I hear the birds outside and are at play. I wonder if they live every day the same way. Suit and tie are on, the commute is the same. Back and forth, the same roads come and gone. I keep looking forward to the tea, the dog and the lawn. End of my shift, I retrace my steps to the door, Finally I can let my mind wander, and go adrift. The evening with my best friend is my greatest gift.

I look up and see... A dark angry gray, the wind howls, birds seek shelter, lightning smacks the horizon, and the calm is taken away. Hear the thunder, the roar of the clouds. A velvet purple blankets the sky, softens the skin, and with it the world enshrouds. I will not avoid this danger, it will not take over me. My blood coarses a crimson current, fleeting feet faster than the rain, a gallop that the eyes cannot see. On silver wings Take me away and fly, breathe the air, taste the moonlight, on my sapphire sky.
